Monday Monday Monday ...

Bake zucchini chocolate chip muffins ✅
Curl my hair ✅
Two hour virtual staff meeting ✅
Email parents ✅
Do a load of laundry ✅
Think about how/what teaching will look like ✅
Finish the last 2 squares of the quilt top ✅✅

This is probably the ugliest square ever! I have learned not to use this random method again.

Now all I need to do is add a strip of material to bottom of ‘love’, sew the rows together and straight line quilt it.

Update Hay Day to get new kitchens ✅✅. 🤣😆

Productive afternoon

They are finally finished.
Now onto the next project, whatever that is.

Sunny Saturday - Still Social Distancing

After supper, I took the dog for a walk because it was still light out!! I love the longer days and the warmer temperatures!! Only one layer of clothes instead of 3!!

I finished 2 more squares!!

Only 2 more to make until I have the quilt top finished.

Only 3 months late!! I want to get this quilted and hung up within the next week or two. I have two t-shirt quilts to quilt. I’m waiting on the backs to arrive. I hope they get here by Wednesday. I’ve been waiting for an Arbonne delivery for two weeks. It is still in transit 😳

I did some knitting last night while we watched a movie.

Getting closer to having 1/2 the rows done!!
Reno’s are moving forward!!
Office ceiling

Garage ceiling

Main floor bathroom: this one is going to need some help from a plumber before it gets closed up. Why all the holes?? The contractor was trying to locate the suction fan vent because they drywall’s over top it 🤦🏼‍♀️🤬

Once all this is done, I’ll start washing walls. The dust is killing me already. It’s everywhere. Next up, I’ll be painting and doing touch ups all over the house. I thought I would like textured walls but I don’t!!

This morning has consisted of an early rise, waffles for breakfast and Dallas is watching Hallmark movies 🤣🤣
Dallas is smoking a brisket so I don’t have to plan supper!! I’m off to sew!! I am going to get outside sometime today too. Maybe read a book in the lounger and work on my tan!!

Variety day

Today I finished a good book.

Then I worked on the lettering on the wings. Hopefully I will be able to do the next step tomorrow.

Then between cleaning things I did some coloring.

Pandemic Friday

. Good to know I'm not the only one who's loosing track of days.  I made this cute baby girl top using the Bargello tube method and most of my seams even line up.
I also made my daily toques.
I also went crazy and made chicken noodle soup in my crockpot.  It was yummy but next time I'll experiment with adding a bit of lemon, more chicken lemon rice-ish. I also made biscuits, side note, warm biscuits with Nutella are amazing.
Hope you get some sun today.

Friday, I think!

I’ve lost a day. Honestly!!
I’m not sure what I did to on Thursday but I can remember what I accomplished today!

Friday
I baked a blondie and some banana muffins! Dallas and I finished the blondie off for dessert at supper time. Good thing I only made 1/2 of the recipe. Here it is, just in case you may want to bake again!

We’ve had some water damage occur in the ceiling in my office, the main floor bathroom and the garage. So, we hired a contractor, who is also a teacher! He started to work at the ceiling in my office today.  While he cut a very large hole in the ceiling, I had a zoom meeting/chat with some friends. They are high school teachers who wanted to learn to use zoom.

It was fun to see other people.

I finished a block and a half!

I had a moment of panic! I figured it was another word that I needed to learn to spell. I lost the two parts of the “R”!

Have you watched the show The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel? If you haven’t, you should!! It is too funny!!

Tomorrow, more holes will be cut and repaired in the ceilings. I may bake. I will sew. I hope to read in the sunshine, too!!

Happy Friday!

Unproductive Wednesday

Good morning, I'm glad I wasn't the only one who was unproductive yesterday.  I spent way too much time trying to win a level n Candy Crush, still haven't won yet.  I spent a couple of hours trying to be Zen while colouring.
I dug in my bin of random yarn and found this ugly red that was obviously donated to me for three toques.
Weird light in this pic, they're a little darker red.
Maybe today will be more productive.

A Pandemic Wednesday

Wednesday was super unproductive. I managed a good hour and a half walk with the dog. It was so nice out, we just kept walking. Then I got sucked into the never ending loop of Hallmark Movies. Every story line is the same but you can’t stop watching them. I tried to nap but that was unsuccessful. I managed to finish the ‘r’ in create, knitted 5 rows on the shawl and did two rows of crocheting on this blanket:

It’s super easy pattern to crochet, one of those ones you read once and can just do it. I started it while I was in Phoenix in January. I should get on it and get it done. Might just list is on Etsy when I get it done!!

Have you ever thought about making a temperature Afghan? I looked at a few examples. They are kind of neat.

This one adds in a row for special holidays or if it rains/snows.

Something to think about. Not sure if I would be disciplined enough to do something like that!!

I made a overnight apple oatmeal breakfast dish yesterday. It turned out great. We had it for breakfast today.

Super easy! 2-4 apples sliced on the bottom. 1/4 cup of coconut sugar (or brown sugar). 1 tsp cinnamon and a pinch of salt. 2 cups of oats, 2 cups of water, and 2 cups of coconut milk (or regular milk). Don’t mix. Cook on low for 8-9 hours. I like these kinds of breakfasts every once in a while.

I’ve enjoyed a few sessions from this yoga studio when I’ve been in Regina/White City. They are offering free online sessions at this time.

Dr Tanda Cook is from the US. She is cute and brilliant. I like her Tuesday tips. Here is this past Tuesday’s tip!

So, I best get at doing what makes me happy so my natural killer cells can be increased!!

I read the guidance provided by the ministry to the school divisions. Left me with lots of questions. A few of my teacher friends began to panic. I taught one of them how to use Zoom. I’ve used this since I started my Arbonne business. It’s super easy to use and convenient! It will be interesting to see what they suggest for K-9 students.

Hopefully today will be more creative!!

More progress has been made

I continue to work on Her's angel wings. They are not quite right yet. Unless Her is happy with this one.

I tried to freehand stitch the word and that didn't work, so I went to the stitch through tracing paper idea.

Then the sequins were added and everything was stitched together.
This is the first one and can be changed however necessary.

Pandemic Tuesday

  Good morning,
Yesterday was the great sponge roller experiment. I used diff sizes and amounts of hair, rolled the curlers so tight Sharen would be proud.  Then I waited, and waited....
When I unrolled at supper there were still a few pieces that were damp.  I looked like Shirley Temple with wrinkles.
I let them loosen for a few hours and they improved.
I would have to be more careful with rolling to get them to do what I want, I think.  However I slept on them, doing my normal flailing about, and they are still curly and not frizzy at all.
I also sewed the scrappy rail fence together.
Hair experiment, anyone else?

Something Found Pandemic day 4 or 5 or ??

I was searching through my scrap bin yesterday, looking for a piece of material big enough, when I got stabbed by a pin. Who keeps a pin in their scrap bin?? This is what I pinned together:

I know what I was trying to make. I drew out this pattern from a picture like this:

Obviously, another item to add to my to-do list!! Wonder if I have some of that material left? I’m sure I do. The Crafter need to come visit so she can whip my sewing room into shape! I have got a good start on things but I’ll know it would be easier with help. Maybe more fun with help, too!

Yesterday was a little different than normal. Mr. Me didn’t go into work until noon. They are doing a split shift for the time being. It was good to have him home in the morning. He took the dog for a good walk and worked on catching up paper work. I fixed the two squares that I sewed together wrong the other day. It looks much better now!

I complete the leaf square. Her, you will be so proud of me. The only planning I did with the colours was making sure they were the right size.

I didn’t get as far on the create block.

I went out for a walk with the dog, like usual. It was so windy and cold. When walking, I try to listen to something productive. I received Marie Forleo’s book for Christmas but haven’t started to read it yet. I do enjoy listening to her podcast. My favourite guru is Gabrielle Bernstein and she was a guest on this podcast. I didn’t learn anything new but it was good to hear their messages again.

5 more squares to go! I may get this too done this week!! Can’t wait to get it hung up in my sewing room.

It’s Wednesday, which means I need to clean the floors. However, it’s mud season so I feel like I’m losing the battle.

Enjoy today

Pandemic post Monday

Okay, I've recovered from the coffee mishap. I've rolled my hair on sponge rollers as a little experiment. I've only ever used a few for wacky hair day but my mom used to make my hair look amazing with them so I'm trying them out today. Different size curlers, I want to seee if I use the little rollers with more hair what happens.  Stay tuned for the results.
I also did my daily toques. I'm getting a little bored with this yarn but it's all the boy stuff I have.
I made about it 25 scrap blue green blocks from r a scrappy rail fence yesterday. I'll share pics when I get it laid out.
