A T-Shirt Quilt for Christmas

I was asked to make another t-shirt quilt as a Christmas gift.

I love the way the border and the back wrinkled. I found this material online a while ago. It is called Sheets. It literally feels like a bed sheet.

Special little detail:

Added a patch!

Only a couple more things to make and I’ll be ready for Christmas!!

First time cross stitching

So I received this package of cross stitch gift tags when I was down and out this summer.  I have never cross stitched and it ended up that this tags had no diagram to follow. So not only was it a first attempt, I had to use the small picture to graph out the designs.

This picture is about 5" × 7". Plus not so easy to count the squares.

So I took the time to graph them out.

This is the finished product.

This shows the size difference between the finished product and the picture.

They probably won't be put on any gifts. Maybe I will just hang them on my tree.

I can now add cross stitch to something I can do.

I have been productive!

I have been productive over the last few months, even if I haven’t shared!! Here’s what I’ve been up to:
T-shirt quilt for a friend’s daughter who was a water-polo player. She has played in tournaments all over the world.

My in-laws celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in July instead of October. I made them matching quilts. I wanted to keep the plaid one for myself but I didn’t!

Baby gift for our neighbors across the bay!

Baby gift for a family down the street. I taught Kevin, aka dad, in my first year of teaching.

Do you remember this quilt?? You know - the giant one. Well, I’ve cut it up into smaller quilts. This year Arbonne’s theme was done is red and white. So, I cut off another chunk and added the fuzzy back that I have had forever to make the cutest little quilt.

A few Halloween signs I made for myself!

I was asked to make two memory quilts for a colleague. Her dad passed away and as they were cleaning out his things, she remembered me saying something about shirts and a quilt. She brought me two boxes of shirts and had me make two quilts - one for her sister and one for herself. I wanted them to be exactly the same with 2 squares different (there were two pairs of pjs that were different). It didn’t happen. It started and finished that way but somewhere in the middle, they aren’t the same.

I finished an afghan for myself!! It is heavy and warm.

It isn’t a rectangle and the border is wavy but it’s warm and I love the colours!!

Next up, a t-shirt quilt that is a Christmas gift!
Happy Monday

 Good morning ladies,

Just sharing a pic of a quilt custom made for the Crafter. New tradition I’m starting, if you have your head cut open , you get a quilt.😀

Festival of trees

 Hi there ladies,

I just wanted to share some crafts my kids made for our Festival of Trees tree. This year they are taking the ornaments to care homes so the residents can decorate a tree. I crocheted a few ornaments to add to our class submission because we were very slow crafters. Yes, they are upside down but I have a new phone and I don’t know how to fix them yet. Her

Canvas used in two ways.

I recieved two different canvas projects to complete. One I bought and one given to me.

This was the one given to me.  You could paint, color it with markers or pencil crayons. I tried to use markers but they always smudged. So I ended up using pencil crayon. Even that was a challenge.

This canvas was a color printed canvas that was then stitched with a satin stitch.

Two very different canvases, each unique.

Poppy door hanging

 Good morning ladies,

I’m sharing a pic of a door hanging a couple of my students made. I made the quilt mat and two crochet poppies. I gave a bit of instructions and threaded some needles but I think it turned out great.

Stocking is done

I started this project back in April and I have finally completed it.
There were a few challenges with this one because not all the instructions were there. Plus it is a good thing I have done a few of these (this was #12) because I ran out of the one color of sequin as well.  But I had some in the craft stuff, imagine that.

Baby quilt gift

 Good afternoon ladies,

I’m sharing a picture of a wonky scrappy star quilt I made for Mr. Her’s cousin.  She’s due in a month or so so I finished it up and Mr. Her will send it to Regina this week.  I’m thinking a winter baby will need all the coziness it can get. What’s up with you?

It is finally done

With having some extra time on my hands,  I was able to slowly work on getting my paint by number done.

It looks pretty close to the picture.

It now hangs somewhere in my parents house.
