Bow modifications

I put my bows with the other bow they were going to hang with and decided that they were to small.

So I decided to see if I had any more ribbon that I could add to them from the 'ribbon stash'.

This is what I was able to do.

They look so much better. The bow maker made it so simple to make them look similar.

I do love a quilt along

This morning I stumbled upon this fabulous QAL! You can check out the details here:

I think I’m hooked because the fabric is GRUNGE!! I do love Grunge fabric!!
This is the quilt the designer made. There is something fabulous about it. Not sure where I would put it but I may consider making it.

Or maybe not because the QAL happens in Sept - Oct! I’ll focus on finishing a UFO instead.

Happy Thursday

Ps I’m exhausted! First week back is rough - getting moving in the morning is killing me.

1 of 8

Well ladies,

I’ve complete one of 8 panels or units needed for the Vintage Lace quilt I’m making.

The two rows on the right have been put together twice!! I sewed the top row on upside down the first time I sewed them together. Two lovely ladies on Instagram gave me the heads up about it!! Thank goodness they did!!

One section contains 40 HST!! So, one section done means only 280 HST left to go!!

I think I’m going to do this factory style from here on out. Make 7 of row 1, then 7 of row 2, then 7 or row 3, and so on until I have them all done. Then I can iron each row the same way. Less thinking - maybe!!

I could pass up these panels when they showed up on the Tiny Stitch Quilt Shops Instagram feed.

Now I need to figure out what to do with them. I was thinking pillows. 11 pillows - that’s not too many?!?!? I can’t remember how many other holiday pillows I have already. They would look great with some bright greens, reds or blue borders and backs!

Just another project to add to the to-do list. I figure each of these are going to be a quick project to do from now to Christmas!!

Happy Saturday!!

Craft cave Thursday

 Good evening ladies,

Today, the Crafter was a basting spraying genius and got the giant Myrna quilt put together.  I quilted for three hours.  I outlined the inner diamond, star and skinny border with blue thread. I used grey on both sides of the tape and there is an outer diamond mimicking the middle diamond.  Next up, trimming and binding.  The Crafter was busy working on another heirloom stocking.  Busy day in the craft cave for sure.

Framing done and new project started

I was in Dollarama the other day and spotted a cheap frame. So I bought it and it actually turned out to be perfect.
This is the next project to get started on.

T-shirt quilt 3 or 4 or maybe 5 of the summer!

Each year, I make a quilt to donate to the Arbonne Charitable Foundation. This year I made a t-shirt quilt out of the few shirts other consultants sent to me and the few shirts that I had (that don’t have stains).

I wasn’t sure if that strip of yellow along the side but now that’s it’s done, I don’t mind it. I kept the quilting very simple. I like how it turned out on the back.

I really want to make this quilt

I’m just not brave enough to start! It takes 320 1/2 square triangles. I love the 2 colour versions just as much as I love the multi coloured. I bough more grunge, imagine that!! I think I’m going to make it with these two colours. I am making this more our master bedroom. 320 1/2 square triangles ...
I can do this right?!?!?!

Some day, I’ll make a multi coloured version but for now, I’m sticking with the 2 colours - white and turquoise.

I haven’t used this ruler in a while but I know it makes 1/2 square triangles quickly!

Here goes nothing ...

Happy Sunday
Me

P.S. I did t realize how hard it was to find plain baby blue material.

More masks

 Good afternoon ladies,

I’ve spent a couple exciting mornings making masks for the nieces and nephew. I know, wild life I lead.

https://sarahmaker.com/how-to-sew-a-surgical-face-mask-for-hospitals-free-pattern/    Is the pattern I liked best after trying a couple out.

Twenty done so far, next up some for Mr. Her and myself.  What wildness have you been up to? Her

Bows are made

I finally tried out my bow board and made some bows for my balcony. They aren't quite done, trying to figure out what to put around the middle to make it easy to hang and attach to the railing.

Scrappy Stars done

 Good morning ladies,

Scrappy stars is done. I quilted it with freehand baptist fans.  I used a new material for the back so after we deal with yet another leak in the basement I will wash it to see how it looks.  What have you ladies been up to? Her

Scrappy stars

Good morning ladies,
I’ve been ona late night quilting roll the last couple days, not sure why but 9:30-1:00 really seems to be some productive time. Last night I made the wonky star for scrappy crumb.
Then I moved blocks of random size I had already made and made a row. However the blocks were not happy with one star.  So I made another just a little bit smaller, moved blocks around, trimmed, added, and still it wasn’t happy. So I made a  tiny wonky star for the top corner, sliced up some more blocks, and finally it was happy. ( I read a blog last week about letting your quilt talk to you) It’s a couch throw size and will go into the needs to be finished pile.
What’s up with you ladies?

Scrap bag crumb blocks

Good morning ladies,
I’ve been working on scrap bag ( from Me) crumb blocks. Originally I thought this was going to be a scrap vortex but the examples I’ve seen are made from strips so maybe i’ll do that next time.  These crumb block are all different sizes so it’s sort of like a vortex.  I’m thinking a blue wonky star in the bottom left corner will be the focal point.

I took these pics at midnight so the colors not great but you get the idea.

Mini Cooper Pillow

I’m working at finishing things up or procrastinating starting a few other projects that I need to get done.

I had drawn on a variety of straight lines on this because I want sure how I wanted to quilt it. I followed those lines. 2 inches apart, 1 inch apart and a couple of lines to make diamonds. I think it turned out pretty good.

I quilted it with white thread. I left the pen on it so you could more clearly see the lines that are quilted. I’ll iron it off before I finish it up.

I already had the big pillow to put inside it. It’s not a really thick pillow.

I’ve add it to the spare bed decor. This bed will be known as the pillow bed. It is where all the pillows seem to end up!!

Of course the Mini pillow has to take centre stage!!

Happy Saturday!!
