I went through my completed cupboard recently and found some quilts for Kids First to give to new babies in our community. Her

Porcelain painting

This is something I haven't done in awhile, painting porcelain.

Meet my friend the snowman.

These were the colors I knew I would use, then I had to think about the other color choices.

This is how it all came together.

Quilt magic Christmas present

This is my kind of quilting, sorry Me and Her. This is called Quilt Magic. This one was a fairly simple to complete so it didn't take long, I was able to get it done over a couple of days.

The kit comes with a prepared hard foam board, pattern pieces and material.

This is the foam board. I forgot to take the picture before starting, this is just the fabric that wraps around the back of the board and one piece of the picture.

This the material that came with the kit.

Then you get a diagram to follow along with pattern pieces to cut out of the fabric provided.

Then you push the fabric down into the lines on the board. Eventually you get a completed board.

Stars of 5C

 Good morning ladies,

First off, I can’t comment on posts for some reason right now. Crafter, your wreath was amazing with just the leaves but all together, it was gorgeous.

So I think I’ve finally made My colleague Rob’s retirement quilt. Every year his welcome back board has stars on it so I’ve made scrappy stars quilted with some freehand Baptist fans. I’ll wait till June to give it to him even though I want to give it to him now. The pictures aren’t great but you get the idea.  What’s up in your creative worlds?   Her

Felt Christmas wreath

This project was completed for a friend.

This is the project, before beginning.

This was a lot of leaves to cut.

This is all the leaves attached to the wreath base.

This is all the pieces made to be placed on the wreath.

This is the completed wreath. It was a task to stitch the pieces onto this. It was the most challenging part of this whole project.

Starry Finish

I borrowed some motivation from The Crafter to finish this scrappy star last weekend. It has a scrappy back and is quilted with wavy- straight lines. It’s probably a retirement gift.

What have you ladies been up to?

Christmas ornaments

I was asked to make some Christmas ornaments from felt. It was a simple pattern that I made a slight change too. But for whatever reason I struggled to make some of the letters look right. Thanks to Her, I finally got them looking good.

The part that is necessary but time consuming.

Felt campfire

My friend asked if I would make a felt campfire for her son's birthday back in August.

All she had for me was a picture, so I went onto Pinterest and found a couple that I could make work.

The hardest part was probably the sticks, they turned out okay. But if I ever have to make them again there are a couple things I would do differently.

I also made marshmallows on sticks.

New fall decor

 Another quick dollar store project.

I always like to white base all my wood signs. Then I put a layer of yellow on the leaves.

The pumpkin was first painted orange. Then I quick brushed a red-orange and orange.

Then I layered red and orange paint to get the desired look.

I then ran some twine through them to hang them on the door.

Feather gift

 Good afternoon ladies,

A new goal for me is to be better about documenting my creative endeavors. Recently I finished the feather wall hanging Me had helped me with quite a while ago. I quilted swirls to show wind/movement. The ‘giftee’ loved it and is putting it in her office. What’s happening with you two?

Year end gift from 4S

 Hello ladies,

This year I had an amazing E.A. Who really went above and beyond everyday. I made a tall strip rag quilt and the kids valiantly snipped it without any help from me. I had other scrap quilts I could have gave him but I knew he would love that the kids were part of the creating. He loved it. Her

Year end gift

 Hello ladies,

While I am not the greatest blogger in June I did get a bit of quilting done.  Mr. Her had an amazing E.A. This year so I finished up the scrappy/wonky  log cabin for her. She is a camper/farmer type of lady so she  has taken it camping already. I love it when you know a gift is going to be well used and appreciated. Her

Crafting with Her.

The first craft day was chosen by her. It was a painting project.

The next project was my choice (the Crafter).

We started with some small terra cotta pots.

Then we painted them.

Then we took some socks and filled with rice, stones and fiberfill.

Then we took a mop apart to build some beards. Her took the time to separate the mop strands, to make it fuller looking.

We added painted Styrofoam balls for noses, and some embellishments to the pots.
GNOMES that is what we ended up with.
