Another quilt for me to do ... Imagine that!!!!!

I'm obsessed with this quilt.  I can't wait to get started.  I've even finished a few tasks that I hate doing - I took out the garbage, did errands around town, swept/washed the floor (okay I turned the robot on)!!!  This is the version of the quilt that caught my eye:

I found it on Pinterest, which lead me to Pile O'Fabric Modern Sewing Blog!!! As I read the post, I discovered she used a jelly roll and made this into a wall hanging instead of a full size quilt.  I just happen to have a few jelly rolls and I think I might follow her lead and make a wall hanging instead of a full sized quilt.  So I played with some colours:

Since the quilt is called Super Nova, I thought I would search for some guidance.  Here's what I used:

An actual super nova!!!  I have a few more things, quilt things, to finish before I get to start this one.  Maybe I can do this in NB this summer just using scraps!!  No planning???  Not sure I can do that!!!!

One more sleep and it's the last day of school!!!!

New Quilting Book

It finally arrived!!!

I've quickly flipped through it ... Just looked at the pictures!!  I can't wait to do some reading tonight.  There's lots of tips inside this book for things like quilting and what type of designs to use.

I thought of you when I saw this one.  I know how you like a scrappy quilt.  I think this would look great with scraps and one solid.

This quilt is the reason why I wanted to buy this book!!  I have pinned a bunch of them on Pinterest.  I can't wait to try this one!!

There are a couple others in the book that I'm interested in too!!!

Happy last day with students!!

Baby Quilt

I've had a few moments today working on this quilt!!  I do love how it turned out.

I did some fancy quilting through the hands.  It might be a little too busy but it's done!!  I quilted leaves through out the hands.

I added some grass ...

I didn't have a large enough piece of batting so I had to sew a few pieces together.

This worked great.  You can't tell it's been joined together.  No big bump!!

I quilted the tree too ...

I even put a knot in the design.

Hope you were able to get something done today!!

A Wedding Gift Part 2

I figured I shouldn't cut the settin squares when I was tired so I did it this morning!!

I ran out of space in this corner

I discovered that I was one square short.

I've to make the missing setting squares and then put this together.

All ready to put this top together but not today!!  I need to finish the baby quilt first!!

Happy Sunday!!

A Wedding Gift ...

So I didn't get this quilt done on time for the wedding but I did show the couple the picture!!  They were excited!  Here's where I'm at:

I started to lay this out tonight after I completed the squares.  It was more challenging than I thought it should have been.  I couldn't get the angle right.  This is the first 1/2 of the quilt.

Here is 90% of the quilt:

I have all the side and end triangles done.  They are pinned to the instruction sheets so I don't mix them up!!  I'm going to pin these rows together so I don't mix up the order!

I am going to start and finish a baby gift tomorrow!  I had some help getting this started!

I can't wait to put this one together.  I'll have to pick out a new tv series to start tomorrow so I can stay focused!!

Hope this gives you the motivation to get that quilt done, Her!!!

Happy Saturday night!
Good night!
