Lone Star Quilt circa 2015

I had to scroll back a long way … April 15,2015 to be exact!! I remember making in Rock Lake, ND with the Manning ladies!! It was a great weekend of sewing and good food!! Always good food when Rose is cooking!

I quilted along the lines of the star, around the centre blue star and the big star  then I did straight lines in the background. I think I should have done more lines on an angle to soften the straight lines.

Here’s a closer view of some of the quilting.

I couldn’t get this quilt to lay flat. It didn’t matter what it tried.

I curved the edge of the quilt so I wouldn’t have to do 90 degree corners - that was a mistake!! I don’t have any of the border material left to make binding with so I wrapped the front around to the back.

I do love this backing!! However, it shows through from the front to the white background material! The last roll of batting I ordered is so thin. I’m disappointed in it. This is something I am going to have to remember as I finish each of these quilts.

Sash inspired beading

 Hi there,

Sharing two pins I created based on a loose idea in my mind of beading inspired by the Métis sash.

I also ‘free-handed’ this five petal rose. The colour isn’t quite right but I like the concept.

Today’s a low key day, staying warm and napping. What are you two up to?  Her

One - Third Done

It took me all day to make the squares for the second row of my Sunspots quilt!

I like the look of this pattern more as I get each square made. I’m even starting to like the colours of the flowers!! What I don’t like is how long it takes me to make a row!! It took me all day! Maybe because I’m so distracted and unfocused these days!!

This is the quilt I plan to finish this month:

Here’s the wild sheet I’m going to use for the back:

My goal is to get this one done tomorrow. Hopefully I can find the motivation to get it done! I might make the border smaller so that I can use it for the binding. I don’t know if I have any green polka dot material left!!

Let’s hope I can post a finished quilt tomorrow!
