Just my luck!!!

So ... I thought I counted correctly but I didn't ... I am 2 little squares short!! I will have to do some piecing together to make it all work! Here is the layout for the table cloth! I am so excited!!!!



I love it!!! Can't wait to get it done!!! Now all I need is a table to put it on!!! Maybe a place with a kitchen big enough for a table too!!!

A princess cape

Hey there,
Here's a couple of pics of Ava's princess cape for her birthday on Saturday. I found a pattern on the internet and it even worked out! Margrete is modeling the cape in one of the pics so you can see the reversible tinkerbell fabric. What an awesome auntie I am.

Table Cloth ... take 2

Hey ...

I think I have found the layout for my table cloth!!!! Check it out:


Now all I have to do is rip the squares that are full colour in half. Then take each half and sew it to a white strip. I should be able to get that done tonight!!! Then I will be able to sew the top together next week!!! I think I am going to try to do some straight line quilting on this one. I am going to try to use painters tape as a guide.

More Squares and a little something that I have been working on!

This is the material that I bought at our quilt show (last April) to make the "Strip Maze" quilt. I finally have all 63 squares made. Now I just have to figure out the layout and sew it together!!!

4 Squares ... a bunch of choices!!!!

Hey ...

Last April, my quilt guild had a quilt show. I bought the book Strip Tubing and ruler to go with it! I finally tried it out tonight!!! Here are 4 squares made into a bunch of blocks!! There are more when you use a solid colour. I am going to try this next! I think I am going to use this material to make a table cloth. The material is called 154 Vintage Flower Garden from Maywood Studio. It's kind of a 1930's replica type material! I am excited!!!

This week's obsession

So I've been feeling under the weather lately so I haven't done a lot of sewing lately. However I have crocheted 6 more hats. They're starting to look more like they should however I won't know till I test them on some real people. Here's a look. The top two look like newsboys, one's an adult size and ones for a toddler.

Wavy are the NEW straight lines!!!!

Hi Her ...

Do you remember this one? It's been a while since I took it out of the closet to work on it. I am quilting it using straight lines. The only problem is I can't figure out the settings that I used to start the straight lines. So I have a one stripe with 6 rows, another with 5 and may have one with 4. Take a look ... let me know if I need to do some stitch removal or if I should keep going!!!

This is a bad picture but it is of the border (dark brown) and the first stripe that I had already done.



Here is one I did today.
You can see the wavy lines in this one!!! I had done the row closest to the blue material maybe I had the two rows closest to the blue material. Then I did the last three tonight.


This one I had one the first one by the blue and added the other two tonight. My question is ... Does it matter how even the rows are???? I think 5 rows of stitching looks good as long as the rows are straight!!!!

I got a package in the mail today!!! I had thought I purchased the following from Anna Maria's website:

I also bought the material in Water to make it!!!


But what I actually ordered was:

So now I have the material and the wrong pattern. I think I am going to keep the Socialite Dress pattern and order the Evening Dress pattern too. I am going to practice making the dress using a sheet or some cheap cheap cheap material!!!!

I am quilting too ... I am making squares as fast as I can!!!!

So Carrie came over tonight and we cut up her vintage/retro Snoopy sheet she got on Ebay. This is the tentative layout. The back will be another vintage sheet she procured. Here are some pics.

Obsession or Determination?

I think I am walking the fine line between crazy and crafty here. I can't get the crocheted hats to work out correctly. Here's some pics. It seems they're either way to small or way to big. Am I going to stop making them? Nope. Just keep trying...
