Good gusty afternoon ladies,
I present scrappy quarter log cabin quilt. It's got some unique scraps, wonky straight line quilting and a backing that's a thick cotton ( kind of feels like outdoor fabric but it was in the cotton section). It's perfect for beach days and road trips( two of Barb's fav things to do). Her
This is how we keep up with each other and the projects we work on. Her is the one who doesn't pin and quilts her way! The Crafter, who won't crochet, is a painter, a stitcher and has a few more talents up her sleeve. Me is the quilter that pins, irons and measures twice!!!

Another project finished!
I finished the other quilt magic I was working on. For some reason the pieces seemed to be larger than necessary. I cut down a lot of pieces, because it was to hard to push down into the cracks.
Now I have bows left to make for my balcony and a project for Grandma that I have to get some felt for. Then I also have diamond dots to do if they ever find their way to me.

Hexi Puff Coasters and a Dish Cloth
Hey ladies, hope you are well!!
I like the pattern because it looks fancy but it’s easy to do. This is one you could watch tv and still do, well maybe not!!
Look how dense these stitches make this.
Overall, I think it’s going to be great once I get it done.
Happy Wednesday... it’s only Wednesday 😳😒
I stumbled upon TL Yarn Crafts on Instagram awhile back. I love the colours she uses for her projects. She has a Tunisian crochet shawl pattern that I would like to make, if I ever get this knitted shawl finished!! I made 4 of TL Yarn Crafts’ Hexi-Puff Coasters.
Here’s the post with the pattern:
I love the colours she used. Of course, WalMart was all out of anything fancy 🤣. Actually, there wasn’t much for yarn left on the shelf for me to select.
Here are the ones I made:

Ugly quilt
Hi there,
I finally got to give Julie her ugly ( on purpose) quilt I made from the garage bag of scraps. Fortrel, courdoroy, sweatshirt material you get it. Of course, she loved it.

Completed
It is finally done. This is stocking kit number 10 that I have done over the years. It was probably the simplest.
It turned out like the picture, so that is good.

Lavettes
Good morning ladies,
Today I'm showing you a new lavette pattern I mastered called the popcorn stitch( it's just sc then dc but you have to pay attention). It's not hard but it's a different muscle movement than I'm used to. These are for Mom Her because her dish clothes are sad and well used, also she made the sad face when I dropped some off for Mere the other day. What are you ladies up to? Her

Mug rug morning
Good morning ladies,
I'm sharing a shot oh my polka dot mug shot in action. Yes, that is cake I made yesterday as my main breakfast dish (it had pineapple in it) and a cup of happiness. I did the quilt as you go method which worked well.
Have a great day!

Progress has been made on a lot of projects
I got further along on the stocking and the quilt magic.
Then I finally constructed this, it took longer to figure out than I thought.
Please ignore the not so straight line of holes, I didn't have a straight edge that was long enough.

Another quilt magic
I started another project to do when I need a break from the stocking.
I got all 87 paper pieces cut, so now ironing the fabric needs to happen. Then tracing and cutting all the shapes again, before they can be added to the board.

I have been productive!
Happy May long weekend!
It’s not as fancy for full as last year but I think that’s okay. The candle holder has a sparkly solar light in it. It’s small, maybe only 3 inches tall but it should give off lots of light. The two hanging plants are Fuchsias. I love them but am not going to live the flowers that they drop all over the ground. I need to paint the middle pot. It looks awful. What colour?? I’m thinking red but if I can’t match the front door, it may not look good.
I love those flowers - the yellow and purple ones! I can’t remember the names off the top of my head but I do know they are good in full sun!! The little pink one in the front is a mini Dahlia. Then the vine like plant is called a Golden. The spike was a gift from a student for Valentine’s Day, the year I taught grade 5. It was obvious it needed repotting when I took it out of the pot. Check out these roots:
There were 4 plants together when I got it. One died last summer and I left the other three together until now.
This plant was in my bird cage last year. I planted it in that pot on February and it has since exploded. Behind the plant are two solar powered lanterns and a crystal one beside it.
These pots all have mini Dahlias in them. Pink, orange and red flowers. I’m going to add sweet potato vines to the two taller pots.
This is a terrible picture of my bird cage. The green plants hanging down are called donkey tails and those are ones I kept alive from last year. Super proud of that. There is some other kind of succulent that didn’t commit suicide (3 of its siblings did) on the top of the pile of black dirt are two Hen and Chicks. I didn’t mean to put the blue candle holder there but it keeps the dog from bumping the donkeys tail.
Here’s a close up of the succulent that survived from last year:
It’s growing like crazy. It started to sprout new parts in April as soon as the sun started to get up earlier.
I need to figure out how to keep the dirt inside. I might try to put some kind of screen fabric around the dirt. Not sure that will work or not.
This planter I got for my birthday from my in-laws. I love it!! The big green plant was the last of the three from the student gift. Can’t wait to see how it grows this summer. The little green one is the same as I have out front. In between them, I planted the seeds I receive from Saskatchewan Wildlife. They are flowers for the 🐝!! Down in front, it’s the only hen and chick that survived from last summer.
I planted a bit of the garden - peppers, cucumbers and butternut squash!
Our raspberries are coming up well!! Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 that we get more than 5 berries!!
After I got everything planted and the watering system set up for the front yard, I sat down to play some fetch. Jager was getting too hot so I opened up his pool, aka Rubbermaid tub, and he went swimming. Love this picture! You can see the water flying off him as he runs!!
We have a guest living in our west fir 🌲 tree in our backyard. She is very protective of her nest and for good reason, too!!
I made my own birthday cake. Vanilla cake with two layers of vanilla pastry cream, one layer of raspberry purée and vanilla butter cream icing. It turned out fantastic! My cake decorating skills were put to the test 🤣
I was asked to make a variety of signs over the last while. I learned how to add a frame. I think the frame adds to these signs.
I went to Preston and Robyn’s wedding today. We honked our horns and cheered from our cars when they came out of the church ❤️
We taught Mom how to use Snap Chat filters 🤣🤣
I think that’s about all for tonight!
I’m so excited for the warm weather. May long weekend is usually an awful weekend in terms of weather but because we are all stuck at home, it’s going to be beautiful. I took advantage of this weather today and planted 85% of my flowers.
This is what I did out front this year:

Mom split her Aloe Vera plant. She gave me one giant one and 4 little ones. The plant in the teal pot is an Elephant ear and so is the one In the yellow pot. The one in the yellow pot is one of the three that I split from the student gift.

These two are still empty. I was to find some lemon grass to put in them.
This is the hibiscus 🌺 I bought last year. It has flowered all winter. I love the flowers. They are so big and beautiful. The other pot was my second gift from my in-laws and I love it, too!! I’m not sure it’s going to stay there. It will depend on what I get to put in there.
I split my Boston fern into 2 plants again. These guys will be happy to be outside again.
