Edios Quilt Too Done

I finished this top over the weekend. Don’t look too close. There are 3 rows that don’t line up. The top white rectangle is about 6 inches narrower than it is suppose to be because I ran out of material. Why? Let me explain!

There are little triangles at the top and bottom of each row. The bottom triangles lined up no problem but the top triangles were way too small. I cut a long strip of material and added it to the top, then cut it to the right shape

There are a few added pieces of material to make thing fit together. It shouldn’t have been this difficult to put together.

I think it is one of the few quilts I’ve made that is actually a rectangle instead of a trapezoid!!!

Beaded pouch

 Good morning ladies,

I recently completed a little prototype pouch. I wanted to try beading on denim, kind of a play on the Metis habit of beading everything. The flower is very cute, I would maybe add a couple of side vines next time.  I added some coordinating fabric for the drawstring part and made a small pouch.  I even lined it! Not sure who it’s going to be gifted to but I’m happy with how it turned out. What’s up with you ladies?

One More T-Shirt Quilt

I was asked to make this quilt sometime during the Covid years. No deadline! I got started on it right away and was able to get 3/4 of it done. Ran out of material and couldn’t find it. Then it got put on the back burner and buried under everything else. Well, I finally found enough material to finish it or so I thought I did. It’s close to the original material - the new material has the same name and number but is different from the first material.  So basically, the pre-Covid and post covid materials aren’t the same!!

She wanted a queen size throw and that’s what I made.

I quilted it by stitching in the ditch. Does that ever get easier?!?!?!

Happy last day of holidays

Another T-Shirt Quilt

A friend asked me to make this for her son who graduated in June 2023. It’s not a grad gift, she just wanted a quilt made. It’s nice to not have a deadline but I think I do better with deadlines. Anyways, it is done!

I was supplied with the background material.

I stitched in the ditch to quilt this one.
Going to deliver it this week.

Happy Sunday

Technical difficulties

   Happy New Year fellow bloggers,

I can’t comment again on posts! Anyway I’m impressed with your productivity Me. I’m at the design stage in beading.

These are examples of what’s inspiring me lately.
I also have two lap size quilt tops I’d like to complete for palliative care at our hospital.
I really need to find some mo-Jo/ambition.
Happy creating,

First Finish of 2024

Happy New Year ladies!!
I love love love the quilt pattern called Meadowland.
This quilt is super easy to do, I would dare to say beginner friendly!! It makes it look like you had to out a lot of thought and effort into material selection, placement and cutting but in all reality you don’t. The pattern does it all for you.

I discovered curved corners a while back and gave it a try in this one. Of course, I bought a ruler for this!! And then saw people using using plates! Why couldn’t I have thought of that!! Oh well, I do love rulers!!

It is very easy to use and has different options. I used the 3 inch curve.

Needless to say, I don’t think I’ll ever do square corners again!! Look at how fantastic it these corners are!!

I am so attracted to the caramel colour these days. The fat quarters for this quilt material came from Morgan Kelly quilts. I have considered buying the bundle again but have reframed!!

Off to watch a Pats hockey game then back to quilting tomorrow!!
