Here's a conversation I need to have with myself next time I go to Fabricland.
Self," Laurie you only need quilt batting. Stop looking at all the cool black,red,and white fabric next to the batting."
Maybe if I had this conversation I wouldn't come home with more fabric/future projects. maybe I would actually finish something. Of course, if I talk to myself out in public people will know I'm nuts (as opposed to suspecting it). What's a girl to do?

Howdy,
Here's a couple of pics of things that I've been working on.
The scrappy friendship stars were originally all going to have a grey background but I'm thinking about alternating grey with the blue in the other picture. What do you think?
I also whipped up this baby boy top tonight. It's the road trip tutorial from cluck cluck sew. I really like making things up from the materials I have in my scrap buckets. I wonder why?

Other People's Blogs

Hey ... I spent a bunch of time last night reading people's blogs and found a few things I liked!!!! Here are a few of them:

1. I love this tub!!!

2. I love the idea of using a door for a weekly schedule ... all you would need is a little magnetic chalkboard paint!!! I may have to take another door from the farm!!!!
3. I have taken an old door from the house at the farm and made it into a headboard. I like this one b/c of the attached night stand. I am thinking that I should sand my door and paint it red!!!
4. I like the shelf in this picture. I love the idea of using white mini lights in the jars instead of candles. I found the numbers/letters online really cheap. I think I might do this in my room. I am thinking about getting: DDK + CDM 07/16/11 or DK 75 and CM 76 or maybe I will get DK, CK ... so many options!!!
5. I like the idea of a white bedroom (not something that I could keep clean). Bringing in two old doors like this would add colour without really trying!!!
6. Check out this website. I wouldn't put the door with a mirror as a headboard. Instead I would stand it upright and use it as a hair styling center.

Tablecloth ... almost done!!

Hey ...

The tablecloth is almost done!!! I need an opinion ... What colour would you use to bind this with?? White? Green? Red? Black? I don't think I would use yellow but you never know!!!


Here it is hanging on the wall in my kitchen b/c I don't have a table, I have a treadmill instead!!! How do you like my chalkboards???? I love chalkboard spray paint. I was sick of these two pictures that I got at Wal-Mart when I first moved in here. I was reading a blog or two and saw a bunch of homemade crafts so I gave one a try!! I love it!!!

Baby Gift!!!

Hey ...

I can't believe how long it has been since I actually did some sewing. This is what I did today amongst the many naps I took. I am excited because I am actually done this quilt before the baby shower!!! The bad thing is I am too sick to go to the shower.


Now that I look at it some more, I think the words should have been closer to the bottom left hand corner!!! I will remember this next time I make it! It was the easiest quilt to make and pretty cute too!!!

I washed/dried this quilt and it turned out perfect!!! I love using sheets. They wrinkle so well after they have been washed!!! It looks great!!!!
